Here’s a preview of our fantastic new opening featuring that most legendary Diva of all time– none other than Cleopatra herself; Queen of the ancient world. Producer and creative director Steven Andrade spent months planning and creating Cleopatra’s spectacular emergence from her golden, jewel-encrusted sarcophagus to the stage of Resorts Casino Hotel. Cleopatra doesn’t travel light– she brings with her a crew of loyal servants and a costume so dazzling and brilliant the sun pales in comparison. A true diva, she’s only on stage for a few breathtaking moments before she returns to her sarcophagus for more beauty rest. It’s an opening act worthy of the cast of modern-day Divas that follows– Gary Dee as Joan Rivers, Jason CoZmo as Dolly Parton, Eddie Summers as Patti LaBelle, Phyl Craig as Liza Minnelli, Steven Andrade as Cher (and Cleopatra!) and Frank More as Prince.

From the storied land of pyramids and pharos he is thrilled to bring back to life the most legendary diva of all time- Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt! Sealed for millennia in her magnificent solid gold sarcophagus she emerges on stage to reclaim her title as history’s ultimate diva. Wearing a dazzling gold gown brighter than the sun and a Swarovski crystal studded headpiece that took weeks to create– Steven Andrade as Cleopatra takes Believe– Divas In A Man’s World to a whole new level. 1 Year Ago– A Look Back

The top picture is of the historic Screening Room theater on the 13th floor of Resorts Casino Hotel just weeks before our show opened. You’ll notice the video screen and lighting hadn’t yet arrived and what looked like total chaos would soon become the set for Believe– Divas In A Man’s World. The talented and seasoned tech crew at Resorts is second to none.

The bottom picture is of of the show’s director of marketing, Kinley Borden standing in an empty dressing room a month before the show’s premiere. That room is shared by Steven Andrade (‘Cher) and Gary Dee (‘Joan Rivers’) and is filled top-to-bottom with the countless costumes, shoes, wigs and all the makeup needed to make the show one of Atlantic City’s most successful.

We can hardly believe our 1-year anniversary at Resorts is just a week away. Lot’s of changes are in store making Believe– Divas In A Man’s World even more exciting! Our new opening act will feature the ultimate legendary Diva– so amazing we daren’t mention her name aloud. May 5th, 2012 is our 1-year anniversary and our fabulous crew and extraordinary cast is working around the clock to make our show the best yet! Noon, Sunday, May 6th– save the date! To celebrate the 1-year anniversary of our show’s premiere and the opening of Pro Bar (geez, a year already…) Resorts Casino Hotel is having a Diva Bingo Brunch. Join the cast of Believe– Divas In A Man’s World downstairs in the Superstar Theater at noon that Sunday for brunch (only $30 per person  which includes a complimentary Mimosa or Bloody Mary). Oh, and Bingo! This will also be the perfect opportunity to release your inner Diva (you know you want to)– come dressed as your favorite Diva for a chance to win fantastic prizes. Yes, we know, noon might be a little early for some but with Bingo AND Divas– well, that’s worth getting out of bed for. Details here.

First Billboard For Believe– Divas In A Man's World

Where were you 1 year ago? If you were strolling along the boardwalk in front of Resorts Casino Hotel this is what you saw. A billboard featuring a show that few had heard of set to open May 5th. 1 year ago, producer, creative director (and ‘Cher’) Steven Andrade was working 24-hours a day racing to get everything ready for the show’s premiere. Backstage was crazy, the cast and crew working at fever-pitch to get the lighting, music, costumes and props in order. Frank Moore, the show’s choreographer (and ‘Prince’) was testing out and perfecting everybody’s moves.

Flash forward to today and we’re proud and honored to be approaching our 1-year anniversary at Resorts! And it’s all thanks to you– our many friends and fans that have made our show the success it is. What was originally set to run for just 12 weeks has turned into a year and we couldn’t be happier! Mark your calendars for May 5th and plan to attend our special anniversary show. Lot’s of surprises that night, new costumes and routines. And plan on meeting the mother of all Divas– so legendary (and we mean LEGENDARY) we don’t dare spoil the big surprise. May 5th is our 1-year anniversary and the beginning of a whole new era. We couldn’t have done it without you!

We’re Back On Stage!

As you know, the cast and crew took some time off for some well deserved R&R. Beginning this Thursday at 9 p.m. the entire cast is back on stage at Resorts– bigger, brighter and sparklier than ever! The incomparable Gary Dee as Joan Rivers sets the tone for a night of unforgettable fun followed by the rest of the Swarovski-bedazzled cast of divas: Jason CoZmo as Dolly Parton, Eddie Summers as Patti LaBelle, Phyl Craig as Liza, Steven Andrade as Cher and Frank Moore as Prince.

In anticipation of our return, Vincent Jackson of the Press Of Atlantic City wrote a terrific article about Believe– Divas In A Man’s World and it’s continued success at Resorts Casino Hotel. Thanks Vincent, for the kind words and we couldn’t be happier for all the support we’ve received from our friends and fans!

2011– A Look Back

2011 was a fantastic year for Believe–Divas In A Man’s World. We’ve had a great first year at Resorts and have had so many amazing audiences these past months! Many of these fans have become our friends and we’re grateful for that. If you recall, Mother Nature threw a few hurdles our way, an earthquake AND hurricane Irene in August (we closed for that weekend) and a snowstorm in October! Still, the show went on and audiences filled the seats.

Thanks to our fantastic cast and crew, and to everybody that plays a part in helping to make Believe–Divas In A Man’s World the success it is– from the ticket office to the maître d’s– but most of all, to you, our audience. And very special thanks to Dennis Gomes, Sherry Amos and Stephanie Nielson for having faith in us and making us an integral part of Resorts Casino Hotel.

Our New Year’s eve show is fast approaching so how about some reminiscing? For those who missed it, here’s a look back at our ‘spooktacular’ Halloween show. Happy 2012 and plan a visit now to come see us at Resorts– lot’s of great surprises coming this next year to Believe–Divas In A Man’s World!
